Calling all Glider Guiders!

The next SWIFT meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 at Chalco Hills.

SWIFT EVENTS at the COBRA field.

June 30, 2007:  Silent Flight day and E-Glider Longest Flight of the Year Trials at the COBRA field. The event will be open to any AMA member. Object is to have fun. Starting time 10:00 AM. Keith has the correct information listed on the scheduled events calendar.  members will be flying gliders at the COBRA field on Saturday or Sunday through out the season pending other events at the field. The plan is to have a call list to notify interested flyers. More information will be available at the May Meeting. This will be a good time to practice launching, landing and just getting in stick time. The field will remain open to any flying.

The Spring Opener held on April 28 is history. One could not ask for a better day. George E hosted the event. We had twelve flyers and eighteen for lunch. Pauline provided home made chili and corn bread. Thank you to everyone attending.

The task for the day was 5:00 min. (300 points) plus landing points of 50 each round. That is 1050 points for a perfect day.

Loren Blinder 1033; Wayne Henning 805; Bob Turner 768; Larry Bailey 737; Terry Lamm 736; Bryan Queck 599; Charles McCullough 578; George Eheman 572; Mike Meyer 570; Allen Warres 511; Tom Egbert 463 and Dan Lorimer did not fly.

Everyone had a great time. The day was perfect; light winds with enough lift to make the five min time no problem. After lunch the wind came up and all the air that was going up in the morning turned into sink.  Thank you Charles and Bryan for first time flyers at a SWIFT event. Charles was flying an E-Glider and Bryan a Bird of Time.  it couldn't have been a better day. Please thank Pauline for doing such a great job with the food, I know that's not easy.

LASS is hosting LINOMA #1 Sunday May 6, 10:00 at the Lincoln Event Center just east of 84th Street in Lincoln.

VISIBLE LIFT: Larry Bailey (Lnbailey@cox.net)

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.  This is your web site, if you would like to show-off your newest plane, or share an experience, you can E-Mail pictures and articles to me at: MetroRCFlying@Gmail.com  There’s an Email Link on every page.
