Defends of Freedom Airshow

Defends of Freedom Airshow  at Offutt Air Force Base will be held July 19th and 20th.

My personal thoughts is this is a big enough of an event that teaming up with other RC local clubs would help ensure the hobby is represented in a good light. We have a limited number of flyer's in the Metro so the more clubs that support it the better. (Lets join forces)  This is a great opportunity to help promote our hobby to the public and hopefully gain interest from the vast number of people that will be attending the Air Show over the entire weekend.

Time is limited for us to sign up!   I need to get the names back to the Air Force Captain I have been emailing with,  I need to have the Who is participating (meaning you will be in exhibition) list back to him by April 25th so there is not a lot of time left.   I have requested, on the Exhibitor form, two Tents, Four Tables and 12 chairs along with a section of ground to display Aircraft.  If we have to we can bring our own tents but lets hope they will supply them.   If you are interested in supporting the event see the attached list an add your details and send back to me. Follow the instructions.  I've also included the PDF so you can read through that.

Persons who will be part of the exhibition will need to go through a minor background check, and vehicles coming on Base will need to be inspected as one would expect.

This is a pretty big deal for us, I would think Military and Scale Aircraft would be the norm with small Indoor Flyers, quads sitting on the tables. (no flying at this time, everything is to be grounded unless I find out otherwise.    If I can't get a good list by April 20th I will assume the club does not wish to participate in the event.

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.  This is your web site, if you would like to show-off your newest plane, or share an experience, you can E-Mail pictures and articles to me at: MetroRCFlying@Gmail.com  There’s an Email Link on every page.
