Memorial Day Egg Burn/Build-And-Fly Fun Fly

Hawk Field Monday May 26th from 9AM until 1 PM

The Omahawks will be hosting their annual President's Memorial Day Egg Burn on Monday, May 26th.  Pilots and guests are encouraged to bring a dozen eggs and/or a package of bacon or sausage with them out to the field.  Club officers will be grilling bacon and eggs in the picnic shelter, and milk, juice, coffee, doughnuts, and other assorted treats should be on hand to round out the breakfast menu.

The Egg Burn is a wonderful day to invite friends and family out to enjoy the field. There's always plenty of food on hand, and neighbors, parents, or grandkids are welcome to share breakfast and enjoy the fun.  Open flying will be also be on the day's agenda, with the flight line available to any AMA member pilot who wants to join in the fun.  Since Memorial Day is on a Monday, by field rules helicopters will be welcome on the main flight line.

Later in the day, Omahawks secretary Mikey Furrow will host the 2nd Annual Build-and-Fly challenge.  Bring out your newest kit-built or scratch-built projects and display your handy work.  Pilots are also encouraged to fly their latest built-up masterpieces. Mikey will have awards for some of the crowd favorites, so don't miss out on your chance to shine.

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.  This is your web site, if you would like to show-off your newest plane, or share an experience, you can E-Mail pictures and articles to me at: MetroRCFlying@Gmail.com  There’s an Email Link on every page.
