Omahawk's Boy Scout Fun Fly

Hello,

I’ve recently received an update from Dennis Bender regarding the Boy Scouts Troop coming out to Hawk field on Monday, June 21st and Monday June 28th. It appears that there will be approximately 20-25 scouts and 4-5 Leaders in attendance that will be at Hawk Field. However, we have set aside two Monday Evenings for this group, so only 10-12 scouts / leaders will be on the buddy boxes each night.

We are in need of a lot of assistance with this endeavor, and any help that anyone can offer will be much appreciated. We are still in need of 4-6 trainer planes and buddy boxes as well as instructors, flight line assistance, and other areas. Dennis Bender, who’s in charge of this scout group, has included the following possible schedule for these two nights:

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

6:00                    FLAGS

6:05                    SAFETY BRIEFING

6:00 TO 6:20        FEED THE PILOTS AND INSTRUCTORS

6:10                    TALK AND 3D DEMO BY CASEY

6:25 TO 6:45        FLIGHT INSTRUCTION PREP / FEEDING THE SCOUTS

6:45 TO 8:00        SCOUTS DIVIDE UP FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES / BUDDY BOX TIME

6:45 TO 7:15        DESSERT PREPARATION BY 4 OR 5 SCOUTS

8:00                     GROUP PICTURE

8:01                     DESSERT JUDGING BY OMAHAWKS

8:10                     DESSERT TIME AND CONTINUE FLYING?

Yes, there will be some food available for those willing to assist, as well as being Judges for the Dutch Oven Dessert challenge by the scouts. In addition to this outline, there will be several scouts working on their Orienteering skills, doing service projects at the field, and other activities based on the Scoutmasters agenda.

If you are available from about 6:00pm till dark, we would love to have your knowledge, experience, and any assistance you can offer with this great and fun event. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email myself or Dennis Bender (dennisbender129@aol.com) and we’re looking forward to seeing you there Monday evening.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation and assistance with this.

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.  This is your web site, if you would like to show-off your newest plane, or share an experience, you can E-Mail pictures and articles to me at: MetroRCFlying@Gmail.com  There’s an Email Link on every page.
