Not-Normal Indoor Fun Fly

Black Hawk RC Pilots/NIFF indoor fly-in January 7-8th

Thank you for attending the BHRCP E/xpo in the UNI-Dome.  We have joined up with a group of Des Moines area flyers to host an indoor fly-in at the state fairgrounds in Des Moines.  Please check it out http://www.dmniff.org/  for details and online registration.  It is an exciting new venue and we have plenty of space for circuit, 3D, Heli/Quadcopter and micro FPV racing.  West Michigan Park Flyers and Mid-American Multi-Rotor will be there.  Hobby Haven (Des Moines) and HobbyTown (Waterloo) are donating prizes.

We need your attendance to kick start this new flying tradition.  Please save the date and attend.

Thank you,

Stan Sweet

NIFF (Not-Normal Indoor Fun Fly) Des Moines, IA started as a group of dedicated flyers which were able to rent a smaller building on the fairgrounds for indoor winter flying.  This has been going on for several years.  This year they were able to rent the Jacobson Center and have reached out to the BHRCP to partner up on an event to share their good fortune with other fliers.  A special thanks goes out to Joe Kunkel for his effort and vision.

How it differs from the E/xpo in the UNI-Dome event:

We provide tables and chairs!  (You setup and tear down).

Plenty of power (20A for every four tables).

Unloading is less than 30 feet from the door, parking just across the street!

Camping hookups available.

We are not chased out of the facility Saturday night!

Concession stand is open.

Lots of restrooms.

Easy drive from I80 and I35.

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.  This is your web site, if you would like to show-off your newest plane, or share an experience, you can E-Mail pictures and articles to me at: MetroRCFlying@Gmail.com  There’s an Email Link on every page.
