Battery
Safety
Lithium Polymer or LiPo batteries
where considered safer than the old Lithium Metal batteries.
Lately however there have been several fires.
The causes
of fires can be over-charging, discharging to fast, damaging the battery
in a crash or putting in a hot car and over heating them.
Chargers
are the biggest cause. Automatic, or peak chargers may be confused
by a nearly charged pack of 2 cells and think it is a discharged 3 cell
pack. They will then charge , at too high of a voltage, and start
on fire.
On some
chargers you manually select the number of cells and if you select more
cells, or a higher voltage, you may have a fire.
There can
also be problems with using cells in parallel if the cells are not
matched in power.

can't start a fire and watch them while they charge". |
